'The Lament of The Black Sheep' Album Launch.

I'm not going to give you a review of the evening as with heartfelt thanks, Neil King - FATEA Magazine, has already done a beautiful REVIEW and I really don't think any more need be said other than if you were there, thank you for coming and if you weren't...there is now, in all it's glory, a full and beautifully put together video of the whole event courtesy, of and with huge thanks to Chris Bowden - Radio Wimborne Folk Show....

So what have I got to say about the launch of 'The Lament of The Black Sheep'? Well I want to tell you about what came before and after it, because it was less 'an event' and more 'a gathering of souls' which was months in the planning, a whole weekend of merriment bookending the event, which itself lasted just a few short and surreal hours.

With thanks to The Regal Theatre, we were allowed to have access to the theatre for the whole weekend and given that I'd never played with a band before, I was very grateful to be able spend the whole of Saturday afternoon rehearsing with my band! (Lukas Drinkwater, Jo May, Luke Jackson, Steve Pledger and Andrew 'Rocky' Rock).

After practice we went to my house for a communal curry where we were joined by Neil King, my best friend Zarla and my husband Rob Swan (who orchestrated the practice, did the sound, cooked an amazing curry and pampered us all) and we all ended the evening with one or two drinks

...resulting in the following 'beer mat antics'

...and several musical interludes!

Now you are starting to get a real feel of the weekend ;) ..."ave a banana" ;)

We all found a deep friendship and bond that I didn't think possible in such a short time. It just worked! A gathering of kindred souls :-)

The launch itself was perfect. Everything I'd hoped for and more. Perfect. There are no words other than that.

...Perfect.

Brian Player co-hosted the evening alongside Neil King. Special guest Jemima Farey also joined the whole band for the launch.

Later, the band, members of family, friends and villagers all joined us for a drink after the launch. My daughter and her 17 year old babysitter joined us for a while too, but they just sat, giggling, staring wide eyed at Luke Jackson... no idea why! :P

I believe I made it to bed by 3.30am!

So it is with a happy heart and a humbled soul that I say a HUGE thanks to everyone who was involved or who joined us,
